Bloom & Boom LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the BoomCast mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information when you use our App.

1. Information Collection and Use

To provide our smart fishing guide experience, we collect the following data:

  • Precise Location Data: With your permission, we access your GPS coordinates to provide local tide charts, marine weather, and state-specific fishing regulations.
  • Camera and Photos: We access your camera and photo library only when you trigger a fish identification scan or add a photo to your logbook.
  • Device Identifiers: We collect unique device IDs (such as IDFA for iOS or AAID for Android) and basic OS information to facilitate advertising and app performance tracking.

2. AI Processing & Third-Party AI Providers

BoomCast uses Artificial Intelligence to identify fish species. When you upload a photo for identification:

  • The image is transmitted to and processed by Google Gemini (Google Cloud AI).
  • No personal metadata (like your name or email) is attached to these image requests.
  • By using the AI features, you acknowledge that data processing is subject to Google’s privacy terms.

3. Third-Party Services

We use professional third-party services to ensure app stability and support our free tier:

  • Google Firebase (Analytics & Crashlytics): To monitor app performance and fix bugs. Data is collected in an aggregated, non-identifiable form.
  • Google AdMob: To display advertisements. AdMob uses device identifiers to serve personalized ads (subject to your consent via App Tracking Transparency).
  • Firebase Remote Config: To update app settings and limits without requiring a store update.

4. Data Retention & User Control

  • Local Storage: In version 1.0, your Logbook entries and Fish Library data are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to your personal catches or logs.
  • Deletion: You can delete your data at any time by removing the entry in the app or uninstalling the App.

5. Children’s Privacy (COPPA)

BoomCast does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, we will delete it immediately.

6. Your Rights (CCPA & GDPR)

Depending on your location, you have the right to:

  • Access the data we have collected about you.
  • Request the deletion of your data.
  • Opt-out of tracking (via your device settings).

Note: We do NOT sell your personal data to third parties.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
